Education
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from the University of Houston-Victoria in 1997. I also obtained secondary teacher certification in English and History. This certification allowed me to teach grades 6-12. While in Victoria, I also attended Victoria College from 1992 to 1994. I did not receive a degree since I was taking courses to transfer to the University of Houston-Victoria. In 2012, I began taking pre-med courses at the Lone Star College System. Presently, I am taking a creative writing course since I want to pursue my goal of becoming a published writer.
Experience
I was a writing tutor at Lone Star College-CyFair from 2012 to 2015. I was also a public school educator for eleven years. I taught english, reading, writing and history classes at the on grade, pre-AP and AP level. I want to be a tutor because I enjoy helping students. The majority of my jobs have been in the education arena. As a college tutor and public school teacher, I enjoyed helping my students and furthering their education. I would like to continue doing just that. I have taken English and History courses as well as tutor training.
